Zoe Jakes at a workshop on the importance of PRACTICE! I think this not only applies to belly dancing, but all kinds of things. The more you practice it and treat it as a serious thing, the better you will get. As she says, a lot of people think “oh I’m at ____ level, I’ll quit, I’ll be fine.” WRONG. That will lead to nothing but a stagnation of your skill level! Continual practice is a MUST. I also love how she mentions overthinking it, thinking what you are doing is too easy…well, it’s not. as I am learning, the foundations are SO important to improvement! Practicing what you do over and over again will make a HUGE difference in your performance!
